Head Teacher's Personal Assistant - East Lancashire
We are seeking a highly organised, professional, and proactive Personal Assistant (PA) to support the Head Teacher at a school in East Lancashire. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Head Teacher's office, acting as a first point of contact and providing comprehensive administrative and organisational support.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administrative Support
o Manage the Head Teacher's diary, scheduling meetings, appointments, and events with precision.
o Handle all correspondence, including emails, letters, and phone calls, on behalf of the Head Teacher.
o Prepare meeting agendas, take accurate minutes, and ensure timely follow-up of actions.
o Maintain confidential records and ensure compliance with data protection policies.
2. Communication and Liaison
o Act as a key liaison between the Head Teacher, staff, students, parents, governors, and external stakeholders.
o Draft and proofread correspondence, reports, and presentations.
o Ensure effective communication within the school and with external agencies.
3. Organisational Management
o Coordinate and oversee the organisation of school events, including staff meetings, parent evenings, and governor meetings.
o Manage administrative projects and ensure deadlines are met.
o Anticipate the Head Teacher's needs and prepare accordingly.
General Duties
* Maintain a professional and welcoming environment in the Head Teacher's office.
* Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as directed by the Head Teacher.
Person Specification:
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience as a PA or in a similar administrative role.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High level of discretion and confidentiality.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with school management systems.
* A proactive and flexible approach to work.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working in an educational setting.
* Knowledge of school policies, procedures, and safeguarding requirements.
