The Head of Communities and Nature will be at the heart of an inspiring vision for a nature-rich landscape that will make a lasting difference for people, place, and planet. Reporting to the Rural Director, you will collaborate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders and partners across the Duchy of Cornwall’s Dartmoor Estate ranging from local farmers and businesses, Dartmoor National Park Authority and the Ministry of Defence through to the South West Peatland Partnership and others. You will run a team locally, whilst working closely with colleagues across the Duchy with a wide range of specialisms including sustainability, building surveying and finance. Key responsibilities will include driving the Duchy’s response to the Dartmoor Vision; delivering and implementing the Duchy’s ambition for a Nature Rich and Net Zero Estate on Dartmoor. You will be driving forward peatland restoration, managing budgets and KPIs and fostering strong community relations through the development of a place strategy for Princetown. You will be a visionary leader, a collaborator and a strategic thinker, with a deep passion for community engagement and sustainable development, as well as experience in rural land management and nature conservation projects.
