One YMCA is seeking a dedicated individual for our Accommodation Team in Bishops Stortford where we provide essential housing support to young people and adults helping them transition from dependence to independence.

The Role: As a Housing Support Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team providing personal support to all beneficiaries with various support needs, including mental health issues, trauma, and life skills. Your role will involve developing individualised support plans, conducting risk assessments, and actively engaging with residents to maximise the benefits of their stay.
Key responsibilities include:
• Empowering beneficiaries to achieve independence.
• Supporting beneficiaries in decision-making and goal-setting.
• Collaborating with external agencies and professionals.
• Organising activities and training to promote positive behaviour and development.
• Promoting and maintaining optimal occupancy levels.

Requirements:
• An understanding of the problems facing homeless people, homelessness issues and experience of working with a vulnerable client group
• Relevant Housing qualification (Level 3) or above
• An Enhanced Disclosure is required for this position.
This position requires flexible shift working hours, in line with the needs of our service users, and will include some weekend hours.
The rota includes shifts of 8-4pm, 10-6pm, 12-8pm. This is a Full Time role / Hours per week: 37.50 / Working Pattern: Varied 7 days a week, works bank holidays.
