School finance assistant - ASAP start at a popular and friendly school in St Albans, Hertfordshire - initial contract period with expectation to be permanent after the summer

Tradewind are working on a partner school for a finance assistant with a professional, 'can do' attitude to support the schools Business manager. Working across a variety of tasks you will need an eye for detail and the ability to be task focused yet personable. The role will compromise of a wide array of duties including talking with parents and students about money, invoices and outstanding payments - you will need to demonstrate. A background within finance or stable background in school administration is an advantage.
Finance awareness / knowledge
*** Purchase ledger including processing invoices and payment runs
*** Lead in the accurate recording and monitoring of accounts and timely reporting to management and Senior Leadership Team
*** Month end procedures and reconciliations
*** Posting transactions and journals to the accounting system
*** Collecting Charity cash from fundraisers, setting up Just giving pages, topping up in school card systems, collecting payments for trips
*** Cash management
*** Procurement of school supplies ensuring not only good quality but fair pricing
General attributes
*** Maintain a confident, friendly and professional demeanour at all times
*** Carry out all duties in a safe manner and in line with school policies and procedures
*** Any other duties as required by the Principal or Business Manager as requested
