Practice Development Nurse
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated LDQ Practice Development Nurse to join our team in this exciting new role. Person Specification:
* Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience as an NMC registered adult nurse
* Nursing experience in General Adult Health, Emergency, or Acute care, ideally with experience beyond hospital settings
* Proven experience in training, mentoring, or coaching healthcare professionals
* Experience in quality systems, audits, and clinical evaluation
* Background in change management and quality improvement initiatives
* Ability to develop and deliver training materials and quality programs
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
* Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management, and patient safety practices
* Commitment to professional development and staying current with best practices and regulatory changes
* Proficient in IT tools for documentation and communication

About the role
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Promote Patient Safety & Risk Management: Train and support nurses on risk identification, patient safety protocols, and incident reporting. Collaborate with the Clinical Governance Manager (CGM) to review and improve clinical risk standards, focusing on enhancing clinical inputs and case management quality.
* Foster Quality Improvement & Continuous Learning: Develop and deliver training to promote professional development and quality improvement. Support nurses in audits, performance reviews, and quality initiatives to elevate care standards.
* Accountability & Responsibility: Encourage personal accountability in clinical staff, ensuring adherence to professional registration requirements. Support transparent decision-making and demonstrate professional practice.
* Leadership & Teamwork: Provide training to enhance leadership skills, foster teamwork, and improve communication across teams. Contribute to the development of the Healix Academy programme, building a structured system for lifelong learning and career growth.
* Patient-Centred Care: Train nurses to deliver compassionate, risk-assessed, and patient-centred care, emphasizing empathy and respect for diversity.
* Clinical Competence & Standards: Ensure clinical systems support proficiency in essential skills and best practices. Monitor and provide feedback to maintain high standards of care.
* Ethical Practice & Professionalism: Guide nurses through ethical dilemmas and ensure adherence to professional codes of conduct, maintaining care standards in line with relevant legal and professional requirements.
* Data Collection & Analysis: Train nurses in accurate documentation and the use of clinical data to inform decision-making and support quality improvement.
* Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Promote effective communication and teamwork across healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care. Develop training that encourages nurses to engage in multidisciplinary care.
* Compliance with Clinical Governance: Contribute to the development of SOPs and ensure compliance with healthcare policies and regulations, supporting staff in understanding patient rights and legal responsibilities.

Required Criteria
* 5 Years post registration experience gained in the UK (or similar) as an NMC registered adult nurse
* Evidence of training, mentoring or coaching healthcare professionals
