Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join the Finance Department at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals. This role is an outstanding opportunity to progress and gain experience within a forward-thinking organisation and team.
We are looking for a Finance Business Partner with experience, drive, ambition, and a passion for excellence. The successful post-holder will be a qualified Accountant. Ideally, you will have previous NHS provider experience and possess a desire to work within a progressive organisation.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to interpret and explain financial concepts and information to non-financial managers and demonstrate initiative. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential. Critical to the role is the ability to develop trusted relationships with key stakeholders, with the ability to challenge and influence others.

Main Duties of the Job
As part of the Business Partnering team, you will provide key financial management support to the Corporate Directorates. The post holder will provide budget holders with high-quality financial management information and insight to meet the needs of the Trust, enabling it to deliver value for money and achieve its challenging financial targets. This includes supporting on providing expert financial advice, budget management support, and playing a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of the Trust's financial plan and Cost Improvement Programme. The role will also support with the financial and economic appraisal of business cases and advice on implementing financial strategy and policy.

Essential
* Significant previous senior experience of financial business partnering for a clinical service/business unit (over £15m annual budget).
* Budget control - leading the development, management, and monitoring of annual budgets.
* Identification, monitoring, and reporting of cost improvement programmes and financial assessments of the cost-effectiveness of services.
* Lead the financial and economic appraisal of business cases for a Division/Department.
* Communication in the form of written reports, spreadsheet analysis, formal presentation, meetings, verbally (face to face and by other electronic means) up to Executive Director level.
* Development of robust forecasting processes to enable an accurate forecast of a Division/Directorate’s financial position.
* Supporting contract negotiations process.
* Financial accounts understanding.
Desirable
* Previous experience of working in a large complex public organisation along with an understanding of the operational aspects of the organisation.
* Working experience in an Acute NHS Trust.
Qualifications / Training
Essential
* Qualified accountant - CCAB with significant post qualification experience/training.
* Degree level educated.
* Evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development post qualification of at least 2 years.
