Are you an experienced Environmental Manager or Advisor looking to be part of a leading construction business in the North West? There is an exciting new opportunity to head up the environmental management systems & division to drive and maintain environmental processes and compliance for a leading main contractor and developer involving managing inspections and audits across several major construction projects. The company is an award-winning design & build contractor and developer that specializes in the construction of high-end residential, commercial, and education projects in excess of £250m in value. Responsibilities for Environmental Manager
1. Lead technical advice and strategic direction to senior leadership & board on environmental policy & best practice.
2. Plan and lead the internal environmental audit programme.
3. Plan and monitor the internal environmental inspection programme.
4. Responsible for implementing and driving the positive contribution of environmental site plans.
5. Assist departmental leads in the development of new and existing processes.
6. Responsible for continually improving the Environmental Management System.
7. Responsible for delivering quality training across the business in core environmental principles and the use of key environmental systems.
8. Generate monthly reports on the business environmental status.
9. Lead on regular environmental reviews.
10. Assess supply chain against environmental requirements.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
1. BSc in Environmental science or management or relevant field.
2. Experience & background of quality & environmental management.
3. Experience of implementing & operating ISO 14001 management systems.
4. Confident communicator with the ability to lead, influence and communicate with peers, leadership teams, and external consultants.
5. High levels of IT literacy and MS Suite proficiency.
6. Ideally membership of relevant body / accreditation.
7. High attention to detail.
8. Excellent organization, time management & planning skills.
Salary & Package on offer:
£45,000 - £55,000 base salary dependent on level & experience, car allowance & mileage, excellent employer pension contribution up to 7%, private healthcare, 26 days holiday + bank holidays and additional holiday purchase scheme, and other additional company benefits & perks.
