An opportunity has arisen to work within the challenging revenues collection environment as part of the Revenues Recovery Team. The team is part of Blackpool and Fylde Councils Shared Revenues and Benefits Service, which is striving to improve service provision and maximise performance in the collection of local taxes.
You will join a highly motivated team collecting Business Rates and Council Tax that are important for the financial well-being of both Councils. Excellent communication skills are required to respond to our customers in writing, over the telephone, and through face-to-face contacts.
You should be able to demonstrate effective negotiation experience. As the post involves dealing with customers who are not paying their taxes, you must be able to deal with challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
You will need an aptitude for using IT systems and have the ability to work accurately under pressure. You will need drive and enthusiasm to join the Recovery Team and must have a desire to provide an excellent service for the communities we support.
The post is 37 hours a week, and after a successful probation period, may be on a hybrid basis, working in the office and from home.
This post requires access to PSN (Public Services Network) services or networks, and the successful post holder will be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure check of unspent convictions through the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). This post is also subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications, and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
