The split will continuously evolve depending on project and team requirements. Reporting to and working with the Systems Engineering Manager you will deliver avionic systems engineering outputs as part of a wider systems engineering department, primarily by coordinating and supporting team members. You will also be providing day-to-day line management of a team of systems engineers, supporting the Systems Engineering Manager with resource planning and project delivery. A key element of this role will be delivering a strong technical output comprising all aspects of design, development and integration engineering associated with control, navigation, communication, payload, aircraft management, and C2 systems. Role Responsibilities Performance management of individuals through the conduct of routine 1-2-1 meetings with a focus on SMART objectives / development needs Provide support to team members including mentoring, encouraging pan-company collaboration and resolution of emergent issues Management of employee related tasks via company tools such as Bamboo (Internal HR Systems), including approval of absence, mandatory training, etc. Supporting the Systems Engineering Manager with recruitment – defining needs, reviewing applications, supporting interviews and onboarding of new staff Working with and supporting other team leads across the organisation with cross project resourcing and rolling out change Design, development and integration of avionics systems for unmanned air systems, including, control, navigation, communication, electrical, aircraft management and command & control (C2) systems. Integration of systems, including other air vehicle systems such as power plant, fuel systems and payloads. Assessment of system and subsystem failures and impacts to other systems. Support and enable flight test development activities, including field work. Generation and updates of configuration, maintenance and user documentation, for products and internal processes Develop and maintain test facilities and tools Guide and support other engineers across involved projects Support manufacturing and build teams with engineering queries Through close liaison and provision of updates to design, configuration and testing Support project managers in a technical capacity, advising on resource and budget estimates Perform other related duties as required About You Qualifications: A BSc or Masters Honours degree in an Engineering or Science subject.
