Direct Staffing Reports – responsibilities for Adult Social Work Service/Teams
3 days on site and 2 days hybrid
Main Duties
1. To be responsible for the management, assessment and planning of needs led services in accordance with legislation, national and local policies and best practice including the protection and safeguarding of Children and Adults.
2. To manage change within services, system and the Directorate activities.
3. To be responsible for establishing strategies to manage and guide the work of the service.
4. To manage, evaluate and improve service and team performance.
5. To manage and sustain relationships with health services and promote integrated ways of working within our neighbourhoods. Develop and contribute to joint working with primary care and health colleagues to ensure the delivery of an integrated partnership approach.
6. To ensure the specialist, primary and secondary care health needs of people with needs continue to be integral to future service design.
7. To provide advice and leadership to operational managers in discarding their statutory safeguarding duties and provide support to partners by providing guidance on safeguarding while overseeing continuous improvement in service delivery.
8. To carry out and support the management of Safeguarding Adult Reviews on behalf of Bolton Safeguarding Partnership and implement any action plans and learning.
9. To secure financial resources for the department’s plans and determine the effective use of resources.
10. To establish information management and communications systems.
11. To robustly implement the department’s demand management strategies and any departmental service plans.
12. Oversee and where appropriate, actively manage the complex and high-risk cases, provide reports, statements and attend Court when required.
13. To manage, organise, support and maintain the use of information technology systems and software.
14. To use information and data to take critical decisions, manage performance of teams and individuals.
15. To manage, develop and utilise a learning culture to enhance the performance of teams and individuals and have the ability to delegate work to others.
16. To promote the importance and benefits of quality improvement by leading and being accountable for implementing and monitoring quality assurance systems.
17. To have knowledge of relevant HR policies and procedures including disciplinary and grievance, safe recruitment, and retention practices.
18. To be responsible for supporting management and staff teams in implementing the relevant Corporate and Adult Social Care policies and procedures.
19. To enhance productive working relationships across the Bolton System and wider regional and national forums e.g., ADASS.
20. To plan, prepare and manage the running of projects, including service redesign and development.
You must have:
* A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Adults
* Social Work England registration.
* References required for the last 5 years of employment.
