Job Overview
This role manages the control of IT configuration items and assets ensuring that up-to-date and verified information on the status of service assets and infrastructure is accurate, current and reliable for use within the Digital space. In addition, this role will ensure that the CMDB(Configuration Management Database) conforms and aligns to the agreed Common Services Data Model (CSDM), working in partnership with DigitalIT Service Operations and Architecture to identifyimprovements to the process such as further automation opportunities.Stakeholder engagement will be key, the post holder will establish,maintain and growexcellent relationships within the Digital department, additionally interacting with business teams, as and when required.
In this role, you will:
1. Create, implement, communicate and manage asset and configuration management plans, processes, and standards.
2. Work with the Service Management Centre Lead and Digital Service Delivery Management Manager to define and own the strategy and roadmap for Service Asset Configuration Management
3. Agree assets to be uniquely identifiedin line with the CSDM, including naming conventions and ensure all Digital personnel comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates.
4. Propose, agree and manage interfaces with Change Management, Problem Management,Service Desk,Network Management, Infrastructure Operations, Architecture and Service Transition.
5. Review the Asset and Configuration Management processes on a regular basis for efficiency and effectiveness ensuring any agreed changes to the processes are properly assessed,approved and communicated.
6. Control and manage the configuration & asset management database, perform change evaluation based on information received while assessing quality of requests for change (RFC) to the Asset & CMDB for comprehensive accuracy and sufficient lead times.
7. Develop and enhance the CSDM in line with current industry standards and agreed internal strategy.
8. Coordinate all configuration management database changes which directly or indirectly impact non-production environments or production services according to the established Change Control policy.
9. Identify, control, record, report, audit and verify configuration items, including versions, baselines, constituent components, their attributes and relationships using automation and integration with monitoring systems wherever possible,
10. Leverage existing tool suites and propose best of breed solutions.
11. Produce management information and coordinate with teams to drive ownership of IT assets and improve understanding of associated processes.
12. Continuous improvement of the SACM (Service Asset and Configuration Management)function, processes and tooling e.g., automation opportunities
13. Perform regular audits against processes, procedures and CI (Continuous Integration) data.
14. Ensure all services are fully mapped within the CMDB.
15. Ensure discovery agents are installed on new infrastructure.
16. Review exception reports and raise remedial actions as required.
17. Task allocation for the SACM Analyst (no line managementrequired)
About You
18. Experienced in CMDB within IT
19. Excellent attention to detail with organisational and process design skills
20. Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels
21. Experience with tools such as Snow License Manager, MS Config Manager, Lansweeper, SolarWinds and Dr Migratewould be beneficial.
22. ServiceNow experience/ exposure is essential
23. Exhibit confidence to challenge and improve existing working methods and processes
24. Minimum ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation qualified or equivalent experience
25. Any configuration qualifications would be an advantage
26. Methodical in your approach with strong attention to detail
27. Strong working knowledge of CSDM

This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our office and your home.
