Conveyancing Legal Assistant

We are looking for a Conveyancing Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to our legal team. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing a variety of tasks and will offer a reliable and efficient service to our clients, many of whom may be experiencing challenging life events. This role requires a professional and friendly approach, with a commitment to maintaining high standards in line with LEXCEL and Investors in People.
Day to day of the role:
* Manage the Fee Earner’s diary and prepare files for billing.
* Screen incoming calls and handle client communications with sensitivity and professionalism.
* Undertake typing of correspondence, photocopying, filing, sending faxes, and opening new files.
* Sort and prioritise mail, emails, and messages, ensuring timely responses and action.
* Deal with client matters appropriately and provide support across all areas of work.
* Prepare straightforward legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Uphold the standards set by LEXCEL & Investors in People, as well as the requirements of the Law Society.
* Be familiar with the Solicitors Accounts Rules, particularly those affecting the handling of client funds.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a legal support role, preferably within conveyancing.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide a professional service to clients.
* Proficiency in legal case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards of work.
* Understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and their practical implications.
