We are currently looking to recruit an excellent and experienced hands-on Chef Manager to join our key pharmaceutical client. You will join our small, dedicated highly supportive catering team based on an amazing site. Your focus will be to take responsibility for the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the site providing a safe and secure environment in support of excellent people care and leaving people with a good impression of the catering service.
Main Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
1. Support the Management Team with a structured & effective Catering & vending service and responsible for the smooth running of the operations.
2. To organize, prepare and present all food and at the required time.
3. Ensure that all food is prepared with due care and attention, particularly in regards to customers’ special dietary requirements and allergen awareness.
4. To organise all hospitality catering for meeting rooms and any special functions as required, some of which may occasionally occur outside of normal working hours.
5. Implement and maintain the statutory and company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any actions as is necessary.
6. Monitoring and controlling financial performance of the unit.
7. Liaising with on-site facilities team to ensure maintenance issues are reported and resolved promptly.

Ideal Candidate
What you bring:
Essential
1. To deliver a consistent level of service, within the Company's standards, to the contract.
2. Fully understands the Site and local procedures.
3. Understanding of the computer systems in operation.
4. Understands the need to maintain diplomatic silence.
5. Understands the need to display an official but courteous manner at all times.
6. Proven experience in managing and leading a catering team.
7. Competent IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
8. Industry acumen and knowledge of external catering developments & innovations.
9. Strong financial understanding and demonstrable budgeting management.
10. Experienced in adhering to and driving company initiatives.
11. Good communication and negotiation skills.
12. Experience working in a standards/compliance environment.
Desirable
1. Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate.
2. NVQ Level 2 chef qualification or equivalent.
