Great opportunity to work as a Fire Security Officer for a leading global security and outsourcing group, specialising in outsourcing of business processes in sectors where security and safety risks are considered a strategic threat.
G4S is recruiting for a Fire Security Officer to work in Basildon.
The rate of pay is £ per hour (£ an hour extra for all employees who pass a level 3 apprenticeship course and an extra per hour whilst training). More information will be given upon request.
This is a full-time and permanent role, working a varied shift pattern inclusive of days, nights and weekends.

Applicants will need to hold a full manual UK driving licence and have their own transport.
Your Time at Work
As a Fire Security Officer at this site, your duties will include:
1. Qualified to operate highly specialised equipment (including testing and maintenance where required) and in a range of emergency response techniques.
2. Carry out all fire checks, security checks and ensure all weekly and monthly paperwork are completed - in line with Ford Fire Bulletin 27 requirements.
3. Read and 'action' e-mails.
4. Weekly checks include:
1. Sprinkler and pump test
2. Carry out break glass test
3. Issue of the Hotwork permits and standby extinguishers
4. Be readily available for standbys, drain downs, emergency response, fires, floods, spillages and burst fire mains or any jobs which come in (when maintenance are working on sprinkler alarm system - standby required.)
5. Safety walks (Housekeeping) of buildings during production hours no obstructions to fire equipment etc.
6. Recorded patrols as laid out on rota or as required
7. Covering other duties on a rota basis
8. Clean fire equipment and bay
9. Trained to SLA requirements
10. Basic knowledge of all Ford Fire bulletins
11. Conduct visual walk round of buildings
12. Report any faults via the Ford in house maintenance systems.
13. Operate the radio system
14. Wear appropriate PPE at all times

Security Experience and an SIA licence are necessary to be considered for this position.
Previous experience working within a similar role is required.
