The Vacancy We are looking for an Operations Leader to join our Workshop, Additive Operations Team based in Coventry. The Team Leader’s role is to lead a facility team of between 4 and 25 individuals (including, but not limited to Apprentices, Technicians and Manufacturing Engineers etc). They ensure that their facility operates to the appropriate processes and behaviours to ensure the delivery of performance for Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery against agreed targets. Duties And Responsibilities As an Operations Leader you will (but not limited to): They will ensure compliance of all appropriate processes and act as a role model for the desirable behaviour. They are accountable for the facility team’s health and safety. They will manage the team’s absence and behaviours to ensure that they meet the expectations of the MTC. Where appropriate this will include performance management. They will inspire a culture of continuous improvement and strive to empower their team members to take action to resolve issues independently. They will be empowered to stop work and tasks, should the behaviour or process be inappropriate or unsafe. They have overall day-to-day management of the Facility schedule and it’s performance against commitments for schedule and cost whilst ensuring that quality and safety requirements are maintained. Influence the strategic capability requirements for the future development of the facility’s machines and people. Person Specification We are looking for someone who is/has: Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience Proven experience and technical expertise in Additive Manufacturing including :- LPBF (Laser powder bed fusion) experience An Understanding of a range of polymer printing technologies (FDM, SLA etc). Experience in managing teams to achieve business objectives. An understanding (and experience of implementing and executing) of Lean manufacturing principles within an operational facility. Ability to translate customer requirements into a deployed capability installation. Be determined and resilient in applying quality ethos and standards throughout the Workshop. Influence in a positive way following the MTC Values Ability to influence without authority. A high level of technical and quality process knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems Good oral communication skills and confidence in dealing with a range of people, including clients, contractors, designers, directors and plant operators Precise and concise written communication skills The ability to lead a team through ambiguous or challenging situations.
