Definition:
Professionally drive and operate all SWM vehicles while ensuring an efficient and effective collection, transportation and disposal of SWM waste streams.
Purpose:
To drive and operate all vehicles and equipment safely to the greatest profitability and with proficiency. Follow direct and written instructions from the Transport Supervisor and their appointed representative, including adhering to all health & safety and company procedures.
Scope of the role:
1. Drive skip and roll on-roll off vehicles as required.
2. Collect wheelie bins & REL skips from commercial customers.
3. Occasionally carry hazardous chemicals.
4. Ensure completion of appropriate paperwork for collections/delivery of all goods carried.
5. Carry out daily checks of vehicle and equipment, filling in relevant forms, and reporting any defects promptly.
6. Develop and maintain good relations with customers and work colleagues.
7. Wash vehicle weekly to maintain a good Company image.
8. Ensure security of vehicles and equipment at all times.
9. Carry out all activities in accordance with the site licence.
10. Liaise and attend meetings with other company employees as necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
11. Undertake training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
12. Ensure own and others' compliance with Health & Safety policy.
13. Adhere to all legal requirements regarding highways regulations, driver hours, and any driving activity.
14. If driving has been completed for the day, undertake any tasks that need completing within the yard/depot.
15. Undertake any other reasonable management requests.

Qualifications & Experience:
1. A good standard of general education
2. LGV Class I or II Licence
3. Knowledge of H&S issues with heavy plant & machinery
4. Multi drop experience
5. Experience of dealing with customers (desirable)
6. Digital tacho knowledge and practice
