Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Support Medical Secretary in the fast-paced and busy Ear, Nose and Throat Department at the QE. We are looking for a flexible, highly motivated, and well-organised individual to join us.
Our friendly and approachable team provides a professional secretarial service to our acclaimed team of Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeons.
The successful candidate will be efficient, productive, and able to prioritise tasks. They will be proactive in solving problems and queries and will see these through to completion. The post holder will need to be calm and patient with an excellent telephone manner, drawing upon communication and interpersonal skills in order to deal with sometimes complex and difficult issues over the phone. The post holder will be flexible in their approach and will work creatively to provide support in the most effective way.
Qualifications
Essential
1. Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4
2. Business Administration NVQ level 3, AMSPAR or equivalent experience in an administrative environment
Experience
Essential
1. Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
2. Experience of working with a range of IT systems and Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Desirable
1. Experience of working in a busy environment
2. Experience of working in Healthcare
3. Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations
