An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner to work within the North Cumbria East Community Mental Health Team. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic Multi-Disciplinary Team at an exciting time of positive change.
The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a high level of commitment, motivation, and knowledge of working with people with severe and enduring mental health problems. The role will require clinically effective assessment, care management skills, and interventions in accordance with the Care Programme Approach and Care Act framework.
The post holder's duties will include engagement with clients in the development of person-centred, recovery-focused care plans. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting. You will be dedicated to the delivery, both as part of a team and working independently, of high-quality, innovative, recovery-focused, and person-centred care which meets the needs of people who use our service and their carers.

As a Community Practitioner, you will have a genuine interest in collaborative working with adults with severe and enduring mental health needs.
As a registered professional, this is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to develop their community clinical skills. As a core member of the team, you will also be responsible for your own caseload, providing ongoing assessment, care coordination as a Key Worker, and delivering evidence-based intervention in the community. You will demonstrate excellent assessment skills, interpersonal, and teamwork skills and be able to work flexibly and collaboratively with patients, families/carers, and a range of statutory organisations.
You will have an enthusiastic approach towards your own personal and professional development. In return, you will receive regular appraisal, clinical, management, and caseload supervision and will benefit from the support of an experienced and committed multi-disciplinary leadership team, including the Team Manager and Advanced Practitioners.

Person Specification
Education & Qualification
* Experience of working with service users and carers in successful delivery of treatment plans
* Complete preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses
* Multi-disciplinary team work.
* Proven ability to develop therapeutic partnerships with service users and carers.
* Proven ability to communicate interventions to service users.
* Further relevant post-qualifying training
Knowledge and Experience
* 12 months post-registration experience, and completed preceptorship
* Knowledge of relevant contemporary professional theories of mental health care and evidence-based interventions.
* Understanding of the statutory issues which impact on service users.
* Previous experience in a community setting.
* Experience of involving service users/carers in evaluation/planning and monitoring of services
Skills and Competencies
* Time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
* Comprehensive continuous assessment of skills
* Risk management and safety planning skills
* Adaptability, flexibility, good communication skills, and a commitment to multi-agency teamwork
