Claims Handler - About the role
My client is looking to recruit an experienced Liability Claims Handler to join their growing Casualty team. This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate working as part of a dedicated team providing a first-class proactive claims handling service to major clients.
Claims Handler - Key duties
1. Liaison with Insurers, Policyholders and Brokers
2. Investigation of allocated claims from the desk, or via referral to a field adjuster for site investigation where appropriate
3. Obtaining all necessary evidence and relevant documentation
4. Determining appropriate actions for the resolution of the case
5. Preparation of detailed reports, where required, providing advice on policy indemnity, legal liability, quantum, and tactics
6. Negotiating settlement where appropriate, within agreed authority limits
7. Corresponding with all parties professionally to proactively progress the case to conclusion
8. Handling all cases in accordance with the client’s requirements by referral to documented procedures at all times
9. Maintaining a proper reserve at all times by regular review
10. Keeping updated on any technical changes relevant to your role. This may include participating in training programmes facilitated by the company
Claims Handler - Key requirements
1. Experience handling Clinical Negligence, EL & PL claims is essential
2. Knowledge of how to value an injury claim
3. Knowledge of reserving philosophies desirable
4. Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal
5. Good communication skills at all levels
6. Excellent customer service
