An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit 1.0 whole time equivalent Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to our well established Speech and Language Therapy team which provides a service across Hull and East Riding of Yorkshire. This post is for anyone interested in working with children with a range of communication needs within mainstream nurseries and schools. The post will be based at Goole Health Centre.

Main duties of the job
* To prioritise, plan and manage a specialist caseload, delegating tasks to others as appropriate.
* To demonstrate specialist clinical skills and provide support and advice regarding the delivery of care in partnership with children, relatives, staff, managers, and externally with other agencies.
* To provide high quality assessments and treatment plans which are evidence-based.
* To maintain, as part of continual professional development, up to date clinical specialist knowledge/skills.
* To provide day to day clinical supervision for SLT assistants, students and other co-workers as required.
* To provide training within own area of specialism to other professionals and carers.

Minimum Requirements
* Degree/postgraduate qualification leading to a license to practice.
* HPC registration.
* May hold other relevant qualifications in work related topics.
Experience
* Able to use a range of assessment and intervention strategies when working with clients with complex needs.
* Experience of working with children who have SLCN in a variety of different settings.
Personal Attributes
* Able to adapt to differing demands, managing own time effectively.
* Able to recognise the signs of stress and develop coping strategies.
Other
* Able to commute effectively and efficiently between service bases/work settings.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of the wide range of communication disorders.
* Knowledge of a range of assessment materials and intervention strategies relevant to the specified client group/communication disorder.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
