Role Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with additional needs engage with the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored support to ensure that every child receives the assistance they need. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and learning difficulties. Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet students' unique needs. Encourage students to participate in classroom activities and develop independent learning skills. Support emotional well-being and behaviour management strategies in a positive and nurturing manner. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a supportive educational environment. Monitor and record student progress, adapting support strategies where necessary. Who We Are Looking For: Previous experience working with children with SEN is preferred but not essential. A patient, adaptable, and caring nature, with a strong passion for supporting students. Good communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively with staff and parents. The ability to create a safe and engaging learning environment. A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
