Our mission is to provide a safe and empowering environment for both our patients and colleagues. The main function of the job is to provide senior clinical leadership and support and model our Trust values whilst acting as a Mental Health Act Approved / Responsible Clinician under the Mental Health Act (1983 as amended) within our low secure forensic in-patient service.
The successful post holder will work closely and interface with all other sides of our developing forensic services to support its development and expansion. Ash ward is co-located with our Community and Specialist Forensic Services, allowing for collaboration between services and continuity of care for our patients.
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust has resulted from the merger of the former Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SomPar), the Mental Health Trust in the area, with Taunton & Somerset NHS Foundation Trust (TST), and Yeovil District Hospital. The merger was the first of its kind in the country. The postholder will be able to participate in the development of the merged Trust and help bring to fruition the benefits to our mental health patients that the merger will provide.
