Xstrahl is a leading designer and manufacturer of Superficial Orthovoltage Medical X-ray Systems used in the treatment of cancers and dermatological disorders, as well as a pioneer in the development of advanced X-ray systems for pre-clinical radiation biology research.
We are looking for an entry-level Field Service Technician. This person is an organised and technically strong individual with a strong electronics and mechanical mindset who will be responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, and breakdown/corrective maintenance for Xstrahl therapy and life science systems.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
1. Provide prompt and professional engineering support to Xstrahl therapy and research cabinet systems based in the UK with the occasional need to travel worldwide.
2. Carry out installations including handover & acceptance testing.
3. Fault diagnosis and defect correction.
4. Complete CFR’S and customer tickets in line with company procedure.
5. When necessary, assist with Production/in-house work.
6. Maintain full and accurate records of all work carried out, per company procedures.
7. Ensure installations are completed on schedule and within budget, and all documentation is signed off & submitted within the required timeframe.
8. Maintain uptime of in-service equipment.
9. Communicate customer feedback, contribute to and drive solutions in line with the company CAPA (Corrective and Preventative Actions) Process and Zero Defects policy.
10. Carry out maintenance and system breakdowns on medical and life science systems, completing reports on time per company procedures.
11. Willing to travel domestically as well as internationally (travel expectancy is approximately 70%).
Required Skills and Education:
1. BEng, MEng in a relevant field of expertise, or higher required.
2. The Field Service Technician must be able to communicate clearly and confidently the technical aspects of their work to physicists, scientists, and medical specialists. This will require good verbal and written communication that is both clear and accurate.
3. Strong written and verbal English language skills.
4. Good level of IT skills, with experience working with proprietary software as well as Windows OS and Office applications.
5. Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in communicating technical issues clearly and to the appropriate level of detail.
7. Clean Driving License.
8. Must be self-motivated, and able to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team.
9. Excellent presentation skills due to the nature of working on customer sites as the face of Xstrahl.
