The Recruitment Bunker are recruiting exclusively for a Buyer to work across a wide range of indirect areas of spend. The Buyer will be responsible for supporting the Senior Buyer/s, sourcing quality products and services.
The Buyer will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply chain for indirect purchases. The ideal candidate will have a background in procurement, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality products to our customers.

Responsibilities
* Leading the Procurement activities across a wide range of Indirect areas of spend; including but not limited to:
* Capital equipment
* Professional services
* Site services
* Software licenses
* Goods & materials
* Consumables
* Service / warranty parts
* Delivering Procurement activities in line with cost, quality, and delivery requirements
* Manage supplier relationships, evaluate new suppliers, and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage supplier performance improvement activities
* Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
* Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
* Negotiate and administer robust contracts, prices, and terms of business with suppliers - both for long-term strategic and short-term transactional supplier relationships
* Define opportunities to realise business cost and efficiency savings utilising procurement best practice tools and methods
* Apply a 'Total Cost of Ownership/Acquisition' approach to opportunity appraisal and recommendations
* Will be required to think and act with strong commercial awareness and will use this skill across all functions of the business in an assertive yet professional manner.
* Prepare, define, and execute innovative purchasing strategies in order to deliver the required value
* Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact on the business.
* Collaborate closely with MP&L to ensure planning, supply management, and inventory analysis are aligned to business continuity needs
Essential Skills
* Proven ability of working as a Buyer within indirect purchasing function
* Strong sense of ‘business acumen’ and analytical skills
* Experience in supplier relationship management, negotiations, and cost saving / value generating activities
* Project management skills
* Strong leadership and influencing skills, along with excellent stakeholder management and relationship management
* An excellent negotiator with a proven track record of successful commercial negotiations
* Able to manage and execute complex negotiations
* Ability to demonstrate high organisational skills and continually focus on attention to detail and continuous improvement
* Evidence of meeting deliverables in a fast-paced working environment
* Strong interpersonal skills, and communication skills both verbal and written
* Decisive, dynamic, pro-active, and assertive qualities
* IT literate – Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, use of e-Procurement tools an advantage
* Good knowledge of NPI
* MRP/ERP system experience
* Driving licence to meet with suppliers
* Must have IDLR/Full Rights to work in UK. Sponsorship will not be provided.

* CIPS qualified, or working towards
* Degree Qualified
