Position Description
Position Summary: Lifeguards will supervise the pool for a variety of activities including classes, open pool, rental groups such as church groups and scout groups, summer conference groups, and swim meets. Duties include regular testing of pool water, sweeping the pool deck, operating pool vacs, and other typical pool duties. Lifeguards will also have the opportunity to be instructors for swim school and private lessons.
Minimum Requirements
Education Required: Current lifeguard, first aid, CPR and AED certifications are required. Red Cross Water Safety Instruction is encouraged for those guards desiring to teach swimming lessons.
Experience Required: Several years of experience as a lifeguard and teaching various levels of swimming.

Primary Duties
1. Constant supervision of the pool to maintain a safe environment for all present, ensuring that all pool rules are enforced.
2. Check the chlorine and pH in both pools according to established schedule.
3. Operate pool vacs as instructed by the aquatics director.
4. Sweep deck and organize equipment as needed to maintain a safe environment.
5. Move lane lines as needed to accommodate the activities of the various groups using the pool.
6. Other occasional projects as determined by the aquatics director.
7. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
