As a member of the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team, you may hold a diverse caseload that will include mainly children looked after and some child protection cases.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Undertaking the review and evaluation of cases, primarily involving children looked after and child protection scenarios.
* Demonstrating a strong ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently and effectively.
* Actively participating in auditing activities across the service to ensure adherence to quality standards.
* Contributing valuable insights to enhance the overall effectiveness of safeguarding and quality assurance processes.
* Ensuring active participation of children, young people, and their parents during meetings.
* Demonstrating proficient report writing skills to communicate findings, recommendations, and decisions effectively.
* Ensuring that effective decisions are made for Children Looked After and Children with a Child Protection Plan.
* Monitoring and assessing decisions in accordance with Working Together and the Care Placement, Planning, and Review Regulations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer or in a similar safeguarding role.
* Strong chairing skills with the ability to manage challenging meetings.
* Extensive knowledge of London Child Protection Procedures, The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations, 2010 and the IRO handbook.
* Thorough understanding of child protection and safeguarding regulations.
* Ensuring that high quality services are being delivered to children, providing constructive challenge where needed.
* Ability to work well in a team.
