United Living is recruiting for an Environmental Manager to join our growing Major Projects team, providing environmental management services for major infrastructure projects. This is a site-based role at our head office in Warrington, involving projects across the North West of England.
As an Environment Manager, you will support various aspects of project development, leading internal and external stakeholders to deliver and maintain necessary consents in accordance with environmental and planning legislation for various projects.
All projects are Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects across the UK, subject to Development Consents Orders, with the first being a Carbon Capture Pipeline in the North West.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Consents Management: Lead management of consents and approvals, managing specialist submissions and application processes.
2. Regulatory Compliance: Keep updated on regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and planning regulations to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with project stakeholders and statutory bodies to facilitate consent delivery.
4. Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of permits and approvals, and prepare reports for compliance.
5. Project Coordination: Collaborate with project teams to integrate consent requirements into plans and schedules.
6. Team Collaboration: Work with multidisciplinary teams to share knowledge and promote a collaborative environment.
7. Team Leadership: Lead the environmental support team, including 5 direct reports.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Proven experience in environmental management, permitting, or regulatory compliance within infrastructure, especially with DCO processes.
* Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects.
* Strong understanding of planning, environmental legislation, or land rights relevant to infrastructure projects.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
* Leadership capabilities and team management experience.
* Up-to-date knowledge of professional competence developments.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Additional Information:
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management.
* Full-time role, 8 am-5 pm, Monday to Friday.
* Based at Lingley Mere, Warrington, with site visits as required.
