Job Summary
Provide Manufacturing Engineering capabilities to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects, utilizing engineering and problem-solving skills. Responsible for delivering robust, capable manufacturing process technology related to materials, tooling, part fabrication, and assembly.
Job Responsibilities
* Ensure customer requirements are fulfilled by the procedures and provide alternative procedures in product planning documents if needed.
* Develop and evaluate Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and their qualification results.
* Implement visual welding inspector written practices.
* Manage the training and certification system for welders and welding operators, including qualification and performance evaluation.
* Perform inspections to verify work and records conform to aerospace standards.
* Certify welders' qualifications according to aerospace codes and standards.
* Maintain a good understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, symbols, drawings, NDT, and quality procedures.
* Verify inspection records and documentation, including PQRs, WPS, and NDT procedures.
* Witness WPS qualification, verify compliance with codes and contracts.
* Ensure production welding and inspection meet standards.
* Perform visual weld inspections and review inspection reports.
* Supervise and train welding inspectors and assistants.
Job Qualifications
* Knowledge of quality systems like ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000.
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
* Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Welding Engineering or related field.
* Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or similar certifications are preferred.
* Good vision acuity as per relevant standards.
* Minimum 3 years' experience with GTAW and/or EBW welding on aerospace materials like titanium, aluminium, stainless steel.
* Experience with aerospace standards such as AWS D17.1, AWS QC1, AWS B5.1, AWS B5.2, AMS standards, or equivalent.
