VTS Officer - Permanent - Kent, UK - £ Excellent package
One of the UK's leading ports is recruiting for a VTS Officer to join the team in Kent.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the safety of navigation and environmental protection within the Port of Dover, adhering to the Port Marine Safety Code.
* Monitor and regulate the movement of all vessels within the port and its jurisdiction.
* Advise masters/pilots of passing vessels or other movements during their passage.
* Allocate berths to vessels entering or manoeuvring within the port according to pre-planned schedules.
* Arrange, in conjunction with the Duty Harbour Master, the allocation of berths for unscheduled arrivals, including lay-bys for repairs and de-storing.
Minimum Requirements:
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade 4 or above.
* Degree-level education or demonstrable experience in operational management and planning.
* Ability to achieve a CO103/1 certificate.
* Previous experience within VTS or a comparable industry, or as an Officer of the Watch as defined by STCW.
* Proficiency with MS Office, strong analytical and technical aptitude, and good spatial awareness.
* Willingness to work shifts, including days and nights, and overtime if required.
The Port operates 365 days per year, and you will be required to work a shift pattern of days and nights averaging a 42-hour week.
