Kelwel Care are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team in one of our newest residential children’s homes based in Elmstead Market, Colchester, Essex.

Responsibilities:
* Working as part of a professional team to promote and provide the highest standard of care for young people.
* Communicating effectively with children and young people and understanding and empathising with their needs.
* Empowering young people to grow into confident and resourceful young adults who understand and take responsibility for their own behaviours.
* Communicating effectively with multi-agencies within the social care sector, ensuring the transparency of the company is delivered consistently throughout.
* Offering advice, guidance, and signposting to other organisations they can access.
* Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour.
* Knowledge of the main issues affecting young people today.
* Supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* Helping promote a stimulating, caring, and culturally appropriate environment for the young people.
* Providing practical and emotional support to young people.
* Demonstrating empathy, compassion, resilience, and positive parenting skills even under challenging conditions.
* Working closely with young people, their families, and professionals.
* Organising and facilitating social activities and health appointments.
* Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning, shopping, etc.).
* Being organised, committed, and passionate about the work you do.
* All applicants must have a valid full manual UK/EU driving licence and be over the age of 21 (in accordance with The Children’s Homes England Regulations 2015).
* Experience of working or engaging with young people.
