Operational People Services: Support the People Operations team by providing a wide range of operational People services. This role primarily involves acting as second-line support for day-to-day HR queries and managing aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of a first-class People service to the organisation. Generalist People support: Provide comprehensive operational support to the People Ops Manager and the business, including administering UK and US payrolls, managing HRIS and other platforms, and ensuring all employee records and data are accurate, up to date, for compliance and reporting needs. People process management: Facilitate the smooth execution of People processes by assisting in the management of employee relations, monitoring HR policies, employee surveys etc. This is a fixed-term position for 12-months. A little about you Previous experience in HR is essential. 2-3 years’ work experience in HR / People Operations function. CIPD level 5 (or working towards) Previous experience of UK and US payroll or willingness to learn. Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and best practice (ideally in UK and US). Excellent Microsoft Excel including V look up and pivot tables / Word / PowerPoint skills. Proficiency in human resources software and systems. Familiarity with basic project management skills. Excellent organisational, time-management and prioritisation abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent communicative and relationship building skills as will work with various people across the business. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to multitask. Commercial mindset with the ability to balance between business priorities and people requirements. Must be a team player which is approachable and helpful. Strong work ethic, proactive initiative, and ability to perform effectively while working autonomously. Calm, resilient and can operate effectively under pressure. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. About the role Provide comprehensive generalist HR services and second-line advice to employees and managers on all aspects of the employee lifecycle and various HR queries across the business. Monitor and respond to inquiries in the dedicated People inbox, ensuring responses are within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Handle UK and US payroll duties, manage contractor invoicing, and assist with pay benchmarking exercises. Utilise and manage all People information systems and the intranet within the Operations team, enabling data reporting, input, and compilation of insights. Assist in monitoring, reviewing, and updating all HR policies to ensure compliance with current legislation. Provide support for employee relations casework, including performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, and flexible working requests. Support and help deliver annual and quarterly employee surveys. Offer advice and play a key role in work reviews and change processes. Suggest new solutions to enhance day-to-day operations. Support compliance with employment laws and regulations. Other ad hoc duties as required by the People department, including participation in project work. Assisting with any other administrative tasks as and when they arise may be necessary, including helping with office duties.
