The Client:
Our client is a major main contractor, working on a diverse range of general building projects scaling general works through to £50m major projects. They're a respected name throughout the national construction industry and are at the forefront of many iconic projects in East Anglia.
The Role:
As Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for introducing the business to new clients, managing a project enquiry pipeline and converting tender opportunities with private clients, major consultants and Local Authorities, helping the business to secure new opportunities for work. Targeting notable projects within the sector, you'll be involved with developing potential customers from initial identification through to confirmed works.
Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing new business leads and securing meetings with potential clients
2. Building and maintaining a database of clients, while building relationships across Essex and wider East Anglia
3. Identifying strategic approaches to securing new business
4. Attending client meetings alongside senior management
5. Presenting as the face of the company
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Minimum of 5 years' previous experience developing and maintaining a client portfolio within the main contracting space across East Anglia
2. A demonstrable sales acumen and a proactive approach
3. Understanding of all aspects of general construction would be an advantage, although is not essential
