Salary: £35,000–£43,000 per annum, depending on experience

We are looking for a talented editor to join our department and support commissioning editors across non-fiction, music & pop culture. We publish a diverse range of high-profile non-fiction authors including Richard Ayoade, Dr Gwen Adshead, Kate Bush, Aniefiok Ekpoudom, Marina Hyde, Katherine May, Helen Rebanks, Katherine Rundell, Jon Savage, Anil Seth, James Shapiro, Jenny Uglow and Gary Younge.
As Desk Editor, you’ll be responsible for structural and line editing specified typescripts. The role also includes drafting jacket, ATI and catalogue copy as well as liaising with authors, Production, Pre-Press and Design teams to ensure books are delivered on time.
Key qualities will be a commitment and desire to work with authors to create the very best books, as well as industry experience at Assistant Editor level or higher. You should be able to demonstrate editorial sensitivity and flair, as well as an eye for detail. Excellent communication, organisation, time management and problem-solving skills are essential. You will have a passion for non-fiction.
This is a full-time, permanent position, based in our London office. We also accommodate hybrid working.
