Description of the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role will play a critical part in driving financial decision-making by analysing data, providing insights, and supporting strategic initiatives. As a Financial Accountant, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the financial health and growth of our business.
This is an integral position within our finance department and involves working closely with the Financial Controller and the CFO. As a new role, it comes with the exciting opportunity to shape and grow the department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, highlighting key trends, variances, and performance metrics.
2. Analyse financial data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership.
3. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to e-commerce revenue, expenses, profitability, and customer acquisition costs.
4. Assist in the development and management of budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support short- and long-term business planning.
5. Support the monitoring of actual performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying discrepancies and providing solutions.
6. Evaluate pricing strategies, promotions, and discounts to assess their impact on revenue and profitability.
7. Provide financial input for new product launches, geographic expansions, and other growth initiatives.
8. Conduct cost-benefit analyses for marketing campaigns, logistics, and supply chain initiatives.
9. Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency across the business.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
1. Support cross-functional teams by providing financial insights for decision-making to align financial goals with business strategies.
2. Collaborate with external partners, such as auditors and financial institutions, when needed.

Skills & Experience Required:
1. Prior experience in a commercial finance role, preferably in an e-commerce or product-based environment.
2. Excellent Excel skills (pivots, v lookups, index, sum product, etc.) with experience of building and working with models, reports and large data sets.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and generate meaningful insights.
4. Familiar with forecasting and budgeting processes.
5. Excellent attention to detail, and high level of accuracy.
Please note: For this role, you will need to be based within a commutable distance from our Glasgow office. There will be lots of opportunity for working from home, but we'll regularly want to see you in the office for face-to-face meetings and collaboration.
