What is the Speedbird Pilot Academy:
* The Speedbird Pilot Academy was created to offer a pathway to becoming a pilot for those with no previous flying experience.
* In this programme, you will undertake roughly 2 years of training and, if successful, will then have the chance to join the team as a short haul first officer based at either Heathrow or Gatwick.
* Your responsibilities will include:
* Completing all UK CAA ground school exams
* Maintaining physical fitness to the UK CAA Class 1 requirements
* Completing all phases of flying training within an agreed number of flying hours.
* Continually develop and demonstrate key behaviours expected of a British Airways Pilot.
Who can apply:
* No previous flying training is necessary, but you should be able to demonstrate an interest in aviation with clear motivation to become a British Airways Pilot.
* 6 GCSE’s grade 5-9 or A-C or equivalent.
* Meet the criteria for a UK CAA Class 1 medical.
* Right to Live and work in the UK without sponsorship
* Fluent in written and spoken English.
* Hold a passport allowing unrestricted worldwide travel.
* Able to pass a UK airport security vetting procedure.
* Visible tattoos on head, face or hands are not permitted.
* Ability to swim unaided (at least 50 metres) and tread water (at least 3 minutes).

* Passenger announcement exercise
* You will need to pass each assessment module in order to be invited to the next module.
* If you pass all these online modules, you will be invited to an in-person Flight School assessment day.
