Your role at BRE We are currently seeking a dynamic and organised individual to join our team as a Trainee Fire Testing Engineer. This role adds value to the business by providing the practical support needed to deliver a busy program of testing. This position will suit someone with a practical, hands-on approach, who is motivated to work independently as well as part of a team, and an interest in developing their career in fire testing. This is an entry-level role that will require following instructions and procedures carefully to ensure that test samples are set up for tests correctly and other lab support activities. The role mainly involves test sample preparation (fitting thermocouples, setting up and operating test equipment) and requires a mixture of practical skills including basic construction work (building, plastering, soldering,) and heavy plant operation (forklift truck, crane, MEWP). Full training will be provided. This role sits within the Fire Resistance and Large-Scale Test team that is part of the Fire Protection (Suppression & Passive) group which tests the fire safety of construction products.
