Healthcare Assistant - Oncology-Haematology Outpatients
We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Oncology-Haematology Outpatients here at The London Clinic. We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £25,850- £29,524 per annum.
Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest independently owned non-profit hospital, with state-of-the-art facilities located on Harley Street. We have circa 1200 employees, a total of 8 premises, and we are dedicated to providing the best, personalised healthcare with a breadth of surgical and medical expertise. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres. Other premises include, The Duchess of Devonshire Wing (Cancer Centre), The London Clinic Eye Centre and 4 premises providing consulting room suites and diagnostic services.
Our Oncology & Haematology Outpatient department comprises of 22 individual areas for dedicated outpatient treatment. Our patients come to us for chemotherapy or other related treatments, or to meet with consultants.
Job Description
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work under direct or indirect supervision of the nursing staff, providing assistance with patients' overall care and safety, as well as supporting the team to deliver high quality patient centred care.
* Job Type: Full-time, permanent (37.5 hours per week)
* Shifts: Monday - Friday
* Salary: £22,788- £29,966 per annum

Duties & Responsibilities
* Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to patients, recognising their individuality, and promoting privacy and dignity.
* Perform and report clinical observation of patient's including respiration rate, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and fluid balance.
* Assist with patient hygiene, elimination, mobility, physical comfort, eating, drinking, whilst observing and reporting specific changes.
* Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, patients, visitors and other hospital departments.
* Assist with the maintenance of ward cleanliness and adhere to The London Clinic policies relating to infection control.
* Participate in Unit/Clinic projects.
Skills & Experience
* Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a hospital environment.
* NVQ in Care Level 2.
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
* Polite and pleasant with an appropriate professional demeanour and be able to cope with stressful and sensitive situations.
* An awareness of the importance of confidentiality and have a flexible approach to working arrangements.
