Location – Covering the North of the UK, from Sheffield through to Scotland.
Salary - £50,000 - £64,000 per annum, attractive bonus and Company car or Car allowance.
Working Hours – Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week.
Please note this role is working for a Global Distribution Company and does require Business Development Management experience within the OEM Sector.
The Business Development Manager manages research, analysis, and development of new business opportunities. This position is responsible for creating effective business plans to generate revenue, increase product lines, expand into new markets, and improve customer satisfaction. The Manager will analyse and monitor business growth and decline, as well as provide possible solutions and new ways to strengthen the Company's competitive position within the industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Identifies, evaluates, and develops new business opportunities in order to expand business and increase profitability.
2. Responsible for retaining and expanding existing company relationships, product lines or market segments, and soliciting new business from prospective customers and suppliers.
3. Oversees development and research activities to build on the Company’s strengths, identifies potential new markets and business opportunities and increases market share.
4. Establishes relationships with potential customers and suppliers. Discusses unmet needs, problems, or complaints, and arranges for meetings with appropriate representatives.
5. Represents our client in identifying, evaluating, and negotiating acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, and start-ups in current and new business.
6. Conducts roll out meetings at new, key, and global account customer locations.
7. Leads, develops, and nurtures local implementation teams (LIT).
8. Finds, calculates, and documents cost savings related to direct spend, indirect spend and value add services programs.
9. Creates and implements account business development activities including product gap identification, account discovery process, and engagement.
10. Conducts internal and customer training sessions on account and customer processes.
11. Serves as liaison between key suppliers, marketing services, and location operations.
Qualifications:
12. High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
13. 5+ years proven sales experience in outside sales or 3+ years strategic account and/or sales management
14. Knowledge of industry including suppliers, customers, and competitors.
15. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
16. Strong business analysis, financial modelling and negotiation skills.
17. Ability to initiate and develop relationships with key decision makers inside and outside company.
18. Ability to spot new business opportunities and quickly evaluate opportunities.
19. Ability to analyse financial and operational data, statements and projections.
20. Ability to identify and cultivate external resources.
21. Ability to establish relationships of trust.
22. Ability to learn complex technical information quickly.
23. Ability to work in fast-paced environment and simultaneously manage several projects.
24. Ability to travel up to 50% - 75%
