Teaching Personnel is seeking a caring and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 child with ADHD in a Thornton primary school. This is a mornings-only role, starting after the Easter half term, providing 1:1 support to help the child stay engaged, focused, and reach their full potential.
The Role:
* Providing 1:1 support for a Year 6 child with ADHD, helping them stay on task and manage their emotions.
* Implementing structured routines to promote focus and positive learning behaviours.
* Using de-escalation strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement.
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning activities and support progress.
* Encouraging independence and boosting the child’s confidence and self-esteem.
The Ideal Candidate:
✔️ Experience working with children with ADHD and additional needs.
✔️ Ability to use strategies to manage attention and behaviour effectively.
✔️ Patient, calm, and nurturing approach.
✔️ Strong communication skills to work with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
✔️ Relevant TA qualifications or experience in a similar role (desirable but not essential).
