Context
SYSTRA are expanding their MEP CAD Modelling team with the hire of an experienced Senior CAD Modeller / Lead. The role will lead/assist with the design of Mechanical, Electrical and Building Services engineering projects on our key infrastructure projects across the UK & Ireland utilising the latest BIM and CAD software systems and providing design input as required. The role can be based from our York, Birmingham, Reading or Manchester office and benefits from the flexibility of our hybrid working approach.
Missions/Main Duties
* Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to develop BIM and CAD solutions for the M&E services elements of projects.
* Able to lead the production of CAD and BIM solutions on a project and provide supervision and guidance to other CAD/BIM resources working on the project.
* Achieve the targets agreed with the Lead Engineer/Project Co-ordinator regarding the effective delivery of projects to current engineering and safety standards, within agreed timescales and budgets.
* Assist in the development of staff to ensure that BIM and CAD skills are available within the MEP engineering department to meet business objectives.
* Work effectively within and across teams maintaining and developing relationships with internal clients.
* Discuss technical issues with colleagues – use as CPD for team.
* Actively and effectively plan work both short-term and long-term.
Profile/Skills
* Extensive Knowledge of Microstation 2D & 3D & BIM procedures preferably within the Railway Environment for Electrical Engineering or wider Infrastructure Industry for Buildings Services electrical.
* Knowledge of safety standards.
* Bentley Connect for Advanced users preferred but not essential.
* Significant experience of working on E&P projects.
* Experience of AutoCAD and Microstation.
* Experience of working in Network Rail IP Projectwise & BIM Standards.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Working/communicating across teams within the company to ensure delivery of projects.
* Self-motivated team player, able to work with minimum supervision.
* Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
* Good commercial awareness including programming and delivery to budgets/timescales.
