We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team at Summerdale Vets (part of Summerhill Group). You will be supported by our experienced Head Nurse, RVN, 2 receptionists, and Practice Manager. As you will be part of a larger group, you will always have access to a wealth of expertise and experience (including Certificate holders).
Duties include:
* Examining and observing animals to diagnose health problems and assess their health
* Performing laboratory tests on samples and specimens
* Dressing and treating wounds, performing surgery, and prescribing medication
* Testing for diseases and administering vaccinations
* Performing ultrasound and diagnostic imaging tests
* Advising animal owners on preventive healthcare, general care, and nutrition
* Spaying and neutering dogs and cats
* Maintaining medical records of animals

Our Summerdale branch is in the lovely town of Cwmbran and is part of a group of 8 small animal branches across South Wales. Our practice is close to local amenities, train station, bus stations, and the city centres of Newport & Cardiff.
Our practice boasts three spacious consulting rooms, a large welcoming waiting area, separate kennels and cattery, large prep area with lab, separate ops room, and x-ray room. We also have onsite parking for our clients and team.
