An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and knowledgeable ENP/ECP to join the team in fast flow emergency care at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The post holder will demonstrate enhanced clinical skills and competencies, clinical assessment, critical thinking skills, ensure safe decision making in order to support the care and treatment of medical patients attending the department/unit. They will ensure that evidence-based practice is inherent in all aspects of care and treatment and ensure this knowledge is disseminated throughout the clinical area, Trust and externally, as appropriate.
You will provide Clinical Expertise and Leadership for developing and enhancing the fast flow emergency care by working in partnership with medical, nursing and allied health professional colleagues.
It is expected that you will help to drive service improvements forward in collaboration with the clinical lead for fast flow emergency care: this will include audit, quality improvement and research.
Main duties of the job
1. Practice in compliance with your code of professional conduct and within your agreed scope of practice, being responsible and accountable for your decisions, actions and omissions at this level of practice.
2. Practice with support at a high level of clinical expertise in assessing and diagnosing patients who present to the ED.
3. Demonstrates with support specialist skills, knowledge and expertise in clinical practice managing entire episodes of care for patients with previously undiagnosed and undifferentiated clinical conditions. This includes the appropriate requesting of investigations (x-ray, CT, ultrasound, blood tests) and the interpretation of x-rays and diagnostic tests.
4. Demonstrates with support safe clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills, as well as assessing and managing clinical risk.
5. Ensures with support that clinical practice is evidence based.
6. Is aware of professional limitations in clinical skills and knowledge, referring patients to specialties as clinically indicated and seeking advice where appropriate.
7. To identify and act upon situations which may be detrimental to health and well-being of patients for example identification and management of vulnerable adult, domestic violence and safeguarding children.

* Ability to organise and prioritise own workload effectively
* Competence in wound management assessment and closure
* Advanced level of clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
Qualifications and Training
* Registered Health Care Professional
* NMC/HCPC/Registration
* Evidence of formal ongoing professional development in the specialist area
* Teaching Qualification or equivalent experience
* Autonomous practice course systems based and injury and illness
* Working towards masters in Advanced Practice
* NMP
* IRMER education
