The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Local Resilience Forum (CPLRF) is looking for a part-time Senior Communications Officer to lead on communications.
The CPLRF is a multi-agency group made up of emergency services, local authorities, military, public health organisations and others who would have a role to play if a major incident was to occur. This could include flooding, power outages, fuel shortages or a health-related pandemic.
The successful candidate would be responsible for promoting, enhancing and supporting the work and reputation of the CPLRF through the provision of intelligent, timely and high-quality communications.
They will work with a range of different audiences including staff, the media, general public and partners, to raise awareness of the CPLRF and ways that we can all be prepared for emergency situations.
The postholder will be responsible for the CPLRF Be Prepared website, developing and delivering a social media presence, communicating with staff and working with the media.
They will also work closely with the chair and vice chair of the Warn and Inform Communications group, which is responsible for leading on communications when a major incident is declared, or other situations which impact the public and involve more than one organisation.
This is an exciting role working with a range of organisations, supporting communities to be prepared for incidents, small and large scale.
This is a one-year post initially, with the potential to extend should funding become available.
The successful candidate needs to be able to travel around the county to different places of work; however, home working will still be allowed.
Ideally, they would have detailed knowledge of a wide range of communications, marketing and engagement tools and how to write communications strategies and deliver them.
Excellent communication skills including strong written and presentation skills are essential, as well as the ability to work with a number of different stakeholders at once.
This is a one-year fixed term contract working 22 hours per week.
