A UK leading multi-award-winning building services contractor are currently seeking a BIM Technician in supporting their expanding BIM team at their fabulous new Head Office in Banbridge. As a BIM Technician, you will undergo comprehensive training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career as a BIM Technician. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will learn how to use a range of computer-aided design software, create technical drawings, and contribute to various design projects. This position is ideal for individuals who have a strong interest in engineering and design and are eager to develop their skills under the guidance of a strong, multi disciplined BIM Team. Alternative Heat is a specialist building services contractor that carries out design, manufacture and installation of new build and retrofit decarbonisation and renewable energy projects as well as modular mechanical & electrical prefabricated products, with a reputation for construction quality and delivery of projects to the highest standard. The BIM Team play a key role in developing drawings from Revit models ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), architectural and structural elements are accurately represented and meet the project's specifications and standards.

Hours | 38hrs per week; 8:00am to 5:00pm Mon to Thurs, 8:00am to 3:00pm Fri.

Responsibilities
Drawing Development: Extract and prepare 2D drawings for construction documentation, including plans, sections, elevations, and details. Quality Control: Check drawings for accuracy and adherence to company standards. Collaboration: Work closely with Revit, design, pre-construction, offsite manufacturing, onsite Installation teams, to ensure that the 2D drawings aligns with project requirements. Development: Shadow experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience on our design processes where a development plan will be arranged to learn and develop into utilising Revit 3D modelling software.
Skills and Competencies 2D Drawing: Ability to develop detailed 2D drawings from provided project information, sketches or verbal instructions. Drawing Management: Populating and managing project drawings, as well as ensuring drawing numbering/revisions are in line with document control requirements QA Checks: Ability to carry out internal QA checks on models and drawings. Communication: Ability to convey ideas, updates, and issues effectively with internal team members. Problem-Solving: Capacity to address challenges, find solutions to modelling issues, and resolve clashes. Teamwork: Collaborate well with colleagues, understanding the importance of collective project goals over individual tasks.
Criteria
Essential Criteria:
* Proficiency within AutoCAD and 2D drawing.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages
* Full UK Driving License with access to own car.
Desirable Criteria:
* 1 years’ experience with using Revit or other 3D Modelling Software Packages
* Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical
* Knowledge of Steel / Pipe Fabrication
* Knowledge of Construction Methods
* Must Liver within a 20km Radius to Banbridge
