SALARY: £34,285 - £38,000 per annum + Generous Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Hybrid working 3 days from the office in Winchester (SO23) and the remaining time from home
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 3 Year Fixed Term Contract
WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Tenancy Sustainment and Welfare Officer with previous experience working with young people and housing services, with the ability to engage with young people in a meaningful way, who has excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Working as the Tenancy Sustainment and Welfare Officer you will be responsible for providing vital support to young tenants aged 18 – 30.
Working in the Winchester City Council area, your support as the Tenancy Sustainment and Welfare Officer will help them to stay in their homes and build independent futures.
DUTIES
1. Support young people in managing their tenancy, rent and household bills.
2. Offer advice on budgeting and benefits.
3. Obtain grant and charity funding to support individual needs.
4. Provide pre-tenancy and early tenancy support and guidance.
5. Work closely with landlords, support services and local agencies.
6. Refer for employment, education, and wellbeing advice.
7. Help prevent homelessness by identifying risks and through early intervention.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
1. GCSE English and Maths at Grade C or 4 or above (or equivalent).
2. Previous experience in working with young people and housing services is essential.
3. Knowledge of the DWP Benefit system.
4. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
5. Able to engage with young people in a meaningful way.
6. Intermediate level of IT skills and confident in learning new software and systems.
7. Full clean UK driving licence and access to a car.
