Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Radiographer to support the delivery of our service. We are committed to investing in staff development and health and wellbeing. The Imaging Directorate provides 24/7 service delivery, and we invest in the upgrade and modernisation of equipment and facilities including the new Heartlands Treatment Centre.
Successful candidates will provide a high-quality service to adults, children and young people using best practice at all times promoting a positive patient experience. They will experience a broad spectrum of imaging techniques. Applicants will be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work within the multi-disciplinary team. You will be expected to participate in the 7-day shift system covering out-of-hours service including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Anyone considering returning to Practice as a Diagnostic Radiographer is also invited to apply; support will be offered at a B4 whilst you obtain HCPC registration.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will undertake radiographic examinations, seeking guidance where necessary, within Imaging and work as part of a team providing a caring and effective service.
They will assess their own workload and capability of patients to cooperate for radiographic examination. They will communicate effectively with colleagues and patients and have a patient-centred approach to ensure that patients' needs are met.
They will take responsibility for their own practice, in correlation with protocols and maintain accurate records. During the course of work, they must ensure they work in line with IRR2017 and IRMER2017.
They will act in accordance with the Radiographers' professional code of conduct at all times and maintain their professional knowledge through CPD, striving to improve standards of service and quality of work.
They will participate in the training and supervision of student radiographers and Assistant Practitioners.
They will use equipment safely and competently, ensuring that faults are reported in a timely manner. They will undertake daily checks and participate in the QA programme.
They will have high standards of cleanliness in the clinical environment and work in accordance with Trust infection control policies.
They will be aware of and comply with relevant Trust policies and regularly participate in mandatory training to update their knowledge.
The role is physically demanding, and they may be exposed to body fluids, severely traumatised patients and verbal abuse.
