As a Locum Adults Social Worker, you will be responsible for:
✔️ Undertaking Section 42 Enquiries in line with the Care Act 2014
✔️ Working within the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) framework
✔️ Supporting adults at risk of abuse, neglect, and exploitation
✔️ Liaising with multi-agency partners including NHS, police, housing, and voluntary services
✔️ Managing a complex caseload and responding to urgent safeguarding concerns
✔️ Contributing to strategy meetings, risk assessments, and case conferences
✔️ Providing person-centred and strengths-based interventions
What Manchester are looking for:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree / DipSW / CQSW)
SWE registration
Experience in adult safeguarding, including Section 42 Enquiries
Knowledge of mental health legislation, policies, and best practice
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, prioritising and managing cases effectively
Strong communication, assessment, and decision-making skills
A commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and choice for vulnerable adults
