This role sits within Supply Chain Operations (SCO), an area of the business which supplies and delivers the logistics, materials, components, rail and road fleet that enable the maintenance and renewal of the railway.
About the role (External)
In this role, you'll work closely with Engineers and Senior Engineers at our National Records Group to help achieve client and business goals, contributing to projects in a way that aligns with industry standards and processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Assist in the day to day running of the CAD department and the circulation of CAD standards and procedures to consultants, contractors and suppliers for their compliance.
2. Manage the systems for existing/new data files and records in a structured manner.
3. Assist nominated engineers in the development, review and acceptance of Thameslink Programme designs.
4. Produce and amend 3D Architectural models and 3D Signal drawings, for both conceptual design and visual purposes.
5. Modelling point cloud data within Bentley MicroStation V8i.
6. Prepare CAD quality reports and other technical documentation as required.
7. Assist in the development of the Signal Sighting Virtual Reality Model.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following criteria:
Essential
1. Relevant successful experience in 2D and 3D within Bentley MicroStation V8i.
2. Ability to model point cloud data using MicroStation V8i.
3. Ability to undertake CAD quality assurance and reporting.
4. An ability to work and communicate effectively in a team context.
5. Strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
6. An appreciation of all the life cycle stages of rail infrastructure.
Desirable
1. Experience of relevant engineering disciplines.
2. Modelling within the Bentley Rail Track.
3. Knowledge of OS Digital Mapping formats.
4. User capabilities within ProjectWise explorer.
