Accounts Assistant
Location: Rugeley
Working Hours: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Salary: £26,000 TO INCREASE TO £28,000 FOLLOWING SUCCESSFUL PROBATIONARY PERIOD

Main Responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant:
1. Using a variety of software packages, such as Sage 50, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets, and databases.
2. Processing Purchase Invoices and reconciling to statements.
3. Allocation of Cash and Bank Reconciliations.
4. Completing and reconciling VAT returns.
5. Processing Bi-Weekly Payroll & Pension contributions.
6. Completing National Statistics.
7. Control Accounts Reconciliation.
8. Inter Company Transactions & Reconciliation.
9. Prepayment & Accruals for the preparation of the monthly Accounts.
10. Analysis of Profit & Loss Account.
11. Assisting in Year End Accounts.
12. Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts to investigate and resolve any issues.
13. Photocopying and printing various documents, sometimes on behalf of other colleagues.
14. Archive filing - to be kept on top of/purged appropriately.
15. Ad-hoc admin duties as required.
16. Day-to-Day Accounts Processing.
17. Inputting purchase invoices - ensuring that the correct authority and procedure has been obtained, and setting up accounts on Sage 50 for new suppliers.
18. Processing Bi-Weekly payroll including commissions and other adjustments as necessary.
The Accounts Assistant will:
1. Be AAT qualified (or working towards).
2. Be a confident user of Sage Line 50.
3. Have excellent attention to detail.
4. Possess excellent communication skills.
5. Be a team player.
6. Be able to work in a team as well as independently.
