A co-educational private school for both day and boarding pupils in Reading, Berkshire, catering for 1540 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning breaks, and afternoon breaks. This is a term-time plus contract working 45 weeks a year. This is a 7-day operation, so the working pattern will be 5 days out of 7. Additional benefits include free parking on site.
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established and friendly team at our prestigious location in Reading.
You'll play a significant role in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
* Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
* Be a great team player.
* Assist the Chefs with food preparation.
* Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times.
* Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
* Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials, including air filter and extraction systems.
* Operate the industrial dishwasher.
We are looking for:
* Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
* Organisational skills.
* Ability to demonstrate a reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English.
* Ability to demonstrate a reasonable/good standard of written English and reading skills.
* Similar experience in a customer and/or food preparation environment is preferred.
